Situated on the grounds of The Great Barn is one of its most magical features, a mature estate lake, estimated at approximately an acre in size.
Here, you may be lucky enough to see one of the local deer drinking at dawn, or see a flash of brilliant blue from the resident kingfishers.
The beautiful tree lined lake, with stunning lily pads is well stocked with Mirror and Common Carp to 25lb from the famous “VS Fisheries”, Pike to double figures and a mixture of Roach, Perch and Bream.
The lake offers the most beautiful setting for not only the angler, but for the person that likes to take in nature. It will allow you to experience peace, tranquillity and will take you away from everyday life. This experience will allow you to slow down and appreciate what the natural world has to offer.
It is a stunning location for painting and for any budding photographer. You seriously could capture the image of a lifetime.
All that is asked is that you respect the natural environment as it’s the least nature deserves.
Anglers:
An unhooking mat must be used in order to protect the fish and please treat all fish with the utmost care.
A landing net must be used for all carp and pike and please don’t stand up when handling the fish.
Please take all discarded line and rubbish away with you and place it in the bins provided.
If dead baiting for pike, please only use shop bought bait or use fish from the lake. No live baiting. We cannot risk any disease being bought to the lake.
We understand that anglers are some of the most appreciative of wildlife and the natural world, so there are very few rules. We trust that you will put the wildlife and the surrounding area first.
